Juvenile American Bald Eagle

Description

June 26, 2021 started out watching these beautiful birds flying all over the park. Orv and Willa , the adult American Bald Eagles, had 3 babies. ( Aviator, Navigator, and Piolet.) It was so fascinating watching the 3 juveniles learning to fly, and trying to figure out their landing strategies, all while Mom and Dad sat close by with watchful eyes. I loved hearing them call out to each other, wondering what they were saying. Fast forward, I get home, upload and start sorting through my hundreds of pictures, When I got the devastating news, that one of the Juveniles had landed on a wire and was immediately electrocuted. Her precious little body lay lifeless on the ground. A couple of days later, she received last rights from a Cherokee man and was sent to the National Repository. Many of us were and are still heartbroken as these majestic birds have become quite a large part of our lives. RIP Aviator. Carillon Historical Park, Dayton, Ohio
