Mourning Dove

Description

This mourning dove is foraging for seed that was scattered on the ground. These beautiful birds swallow the seed, and store them in an enlarged place in the esophagus called the crop. When it is filled up, they fly off to a safer place and digest their food. I love watching them fly off! Their white tail feathers just look amazing!
